Parenting education is the key to building strong families, raising successful children, and creating confident parents. Our focus is on strengthening families by fostering parent-child communication; nuturing respectful discipline practices; forming strong parent-child relationships and using effective parenting skills. The U of M Extension provides expert training and educational products for parents and parent professionals geared for parenting preschool and school-aged children. Our program can give the tools needed to be a successful parent. Programs are provided through train the trainer, training for professionals and publications and web-based information for professionals and parents. The Parents Foever program meets the needs of divorcing or never married parents, which is provided as a series of classes locally in specific counties.
