The Crisis Nursery Program offers to parents who are experiencing a stressful situation a temporary, voluntary, safe place for their children under 13 to go for a few hours or up to 72 hours of care. A crisis may be any situation which places stress on a parent. Crisis Nursery Services believes that being a parent is a difficult job, and that every parent needs help at times. Some families do not have any resources to call on for that help. Crisis Nursery Services can be a resource for that family. To use the Rice County Crisis Nursery families must be residents of Rice County and the parents/guardians of the children must call the Crisis Nursery to request services. Children can be placed in overnight care for up to 72 hours and daycare for up to 10 consecutive days. Children are placed in homes or centers licensed by either Rice County or the State of Minnesota.
